Most of a clinic’s cost is time: the minutes a patient waits, the minutes a receptionist retypes, the hour a physician spends on a schedule. We have sat at that desk. We map the visit as it actually happens, remove the steps that exist only because they always have, and build the ones that should have existed — then measure the visit again.
